Enhancing Nail Matrixectomy and Biopsy Outcomes with SURGISPON®

What is Surgical Nail Matrixectomy and Nail Plate Biopsy?

Nail matrixectomy or biopsy involves removing or destroying the nail matrix to prevent abnormal regrowth or obtain tissue for diagnosis. Performed under local anesthesia, the nail plate is partially lifted to expose and ablate the matrix surgically, chemically, or electrically. During these surgeries, even minimal trauma can trigger significant bleeding from the vascular nail bed obscuring visibility and delaying healing.
